Produced by CIRIDD with the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the ninth ECLAIRA newsletter is entitled “Digital: an ally of the circular economy?”
EDITORIAL
Wondering about the impact of digital technology on the environment could naturally make us fatalistic: the equipment is produced on the other side f the world, there are twice as many connected objects as people living on earth, digital is unavoidable, artificial intelligence is going to be the panacea, not to mention that you have to move with the times!
Once again, the circular economy offers us solutions for action. In this 13th ECLAIRA newsletter, we propose to look at the question from the angle of “uses” and the “life cycle of products and services”. From individual terminals to the efficiency of buildings via servers, testimonies shed light on practical actions.
Fatalism: no.
Ecodesign, responsible consumption and functional service economy: yes!
Digital technology for the circular economy is possible.
